Enseignants de Beni, Nord-Kivu : Exiger une rémunération correspondante à l’ampleur de leurs missions

, we will celebrate the National Day of Education, a day dedicated to Congolese teachers and students, that was held this Saturday, April 29th 2023.

At the end of a prayer service organized for the cause, several speeches were held by several educational partners, including a representative of the pupils, the teachers themselves and local authorities.

From the outset, the teachers expressed their thanks to the Congolese government, their employer, for its efforts in providing work for its employees. In his speech read by Mr. Kabayongo Mbakulo, teacher at the Ujasiri Institute, the chalkmasters then made several recommendations, including the improvement of their living conditions and the extension of free education up to the secondary level.

« We express our gratitude to the Congolese state for giving us work, for without it, we would all be unemployed. Nevertheless, in acknowledging all the benefits, we plead to our hierarchical authorities to help us to raise our voices up to the central government, saying to raise the level of teachers by mechanizing and paying all the new units because these last frame the children which are Congolese, » declared the teachers.

They added: « Granting operating expenses to both elementary and secondary, extending free education to secondary level, thinking to pay the teacher a salary to match his tasks and honoring its promises to educators. »

They also committed themselves to valorizing their profession by avoiding anti-values. Other interventions were oriented to encourage the teachers for the service they render with abnegation to the Congolese population.

At the end of this prayer service, the teachers were organized on a school-by-school basis.
