, Saturday, April 15, the Forces Armées de la République Démocratique du Congo (FARDC) declared that three assailants allegedly from the Mai-Mai rebel group ‘Baraka’ were killed overnight on Friday 14, in the Bashus chefferie in the Beni territory.
According to Captain Anthony Mwayilusha, the spokesperson for the FARDC in Beni, this came after an attack targeted the identification and enrolment center hosted in the Rwahwa Primary School, situated around 8 kilometers north of Butuhe-Centre, in the Malio groupment.
The loyalist army adds that they have recovered one AK-47 of the enemy. However, the spokesperson also mentioned that one soldier, who was in charge of guarding the center, was wounded by the assailants.The military spokesperson concluded by affirming that the army continues to patrol the zone to allow the resumption of the enrolment operations.
The local civil society confirm this attack but details that one of the dead is a civilian.
