Le procureur général de la RDC jure devant la Cour Constitutionnelle

presented on Thursday 8th June 2023 in Kinshasa, an impressive solemn ceremony marking the swearing-in of the Prosecutor General of the Constitutional Court in front of the president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi.

This important milestone for the nation’s judicial apparatus was held in the Conference Room of the Palace of the People and was attended by the presidents of the two houses of Parliament, confirming the importance of this event.

The oath-taking is a vital step in the entry into office of the Prosecutor General, and is a public commitment to adhere to the rule of law, protect the constitution and serve justice with impartiality and independence.

The role of the Prosecutor General of the Constitutional Court is essential to maintain the legal order and guarantee constitutional rights in the DRC. It plays a decisive role in interpreting the Constitution and guaranteeing its respect by all state organs.

By taking this oath, the Prosecutor General reaffirms his commitment to uphold the independence of the judiciary, protect human rights and ensure that justice is rendered fairly and transparently for all citizens of the DRC.
