Wednesday 10th of May, the Young African team, reinforced by the national players Kalala Mayele, Lomalisa and Tusilua, has obtained a stunning victory (2-0) in the first-leg of the African Confederation Cup semi-finals. The team challenged Marumu Gallant from South Africa during a game played on their ground.
At the end of the first period without any goal, the Young Africans players managed to break through the defense of the opponent during the second half. The Burkenemy Aziz Ki scored the first goal at the 64th minute, giving an advantage to his team. Later, Ghanan Bernard Morrison sealed the success of Team Tanzania with a second goal in the injury time (90+2).
At the same time, the game between ASC Mimosa of Côte d’Ivoire and USM Alger ended up in a draw of 0-0. The return match will take place next week.
The victory of the Young Africans presents a great opportunity to the team ahead of the second-leg semifinals, with a comfortable advantage of two goals. Mayele, Lomalisa and Tusilua can be proud of their contribution to such an important victory.
