, published Friday 14 April 2023, it is reported, painfully, yet another tragedy in the region of Beni. In the very morning security guard of the Voting enrolment Centre in Mangina, a commune of the same name, was found dead, because of an apparent suicide.

The police investigations that have been conducted this morning shed some light on the facts: According to them the unknown motive takeling the life of the guard was due to a firearm discharged in the very same Centre.

The death of the guard caused a complete shut down of the voting enrolment operations, as well as the school activities, according to Kakule Vunyatsi Muongozi, president of the civil society in Mangina. He also reported that the remains of the security guard were buried in the same day.

The president of the civil society is firm on his conviction that the activities of enrolling voters and the regular school classes of the Centre are sure to resume.

However noone will be able to really understand the reasons of why this terrible event transfixed the region.
